The Claim Process

Six steps. 30 to 90 days. You file the claim — we run the other five.

The timeline is 30 to 90 days from claim filed to final project completion. We inspect and document all storm-related damage, we walk you through filing the claim (often on speaker with the carrier so we can answer questions), we meet your adjuster on the roof, we install, and your carrier issues the remaining depreciation check. You pay your deductible — everything else flows through the claim.

Scroll down to trace the full claim journey — each step highlights as you reach it, showing exactly who is handling what at every point.

Claims Timeline

From storm to final paint — here is exactly what happens, who does what, and how long each piece takes. Scroll to trace the journey.

Day 0-2We handle

Damage inspection

We climb your roof, photograph every elevation, document all storm-related damage, and give you a written report within 24 hours. No charge. No obligation. Usually takes 45 minutes on-site.

Day 1-3You handle

You file the claim — with us

We do not leave the filing to you alone. We walk you through it right there on site — usually on speaker with the carrier so we can answer their questions in real time and pull claim info before we leave. You stay on the phone; we handle the prep.

Day 7-21We handle

Adjuster inspection

Your adjuster schedules a site visit. We meet them on the roof with our documentation and walk the damage together. Our documentation + their tools = claim approved.

Day 21-30Carrier handles

ACV check + scope

Carrier approves the claim and issues the Actual Cash Value check minus your deductible. We finalize the scope of work and set an install date. We maximize the value of your claim by looking at everything — roof, siding, deck, fence, playgrounds, gazebos — and getting every covered item documented, even items we do not install ourselves.

Day 30-45We handle

Installation

1 to 3 days of install. We tear off, replace decking as needed, install new underlayment, shingles, flashing, and ridge. We document with photos and file supplements for hidden covered damage.

Day 45-90Carrier handles

RCV depreciation check

We submit completion docs and photos. Carrier issues the remaining Replacement Cost Value depreciation check. Claim closes. You have a new roof with a lifetime workmanship warranty backed by free annual inspections.

The questions we get most from Northwest Indiana and Chicagoland homeowners. If you have another, call us at (219) 400-0223.

Yes. We work with every major carrier — State Farm, Allstate, Liberty Mutual, American Family, Farmers, Nationwide, Erie, and dozens more. Our documentation process is built around what adjusters need to approve a claim cleanly.

Six steps: (1) We inspect and document all storm-related damage with photos, (2) You file the claim — we walk you through it on site, often on speaker with the carrier so we can answer questions, and we get the claim info before leaving the house, (3) The adjuster meets us on the roof for the on-site inspection, (4) Your carrier approves the claim and issues the actual cash value (ACV) check minus your deductible, (5) We install — 1 to 3 days on-site and replace decking as needed, (6) Your carrier issues the remaining replacement cost value (RCV) depreciation check. Total timeline typically 30 to 90 days from claim filed to final project completion.

Your deductible. That is it. Whether the total scope is $12K or $30K, you pay your deductible ($500, $1K, $2.5K — whatever your policy says). The carrier pays the rest directly through the claim.

A supplement is an amendment to the original claim when the adjuster missed work or underscoped something — code upgrades, hidden flashing issues, missed elevations, accessory items like deck or fence damage. We catch these during tear-off or pre-install measurement and file supplements with photo documentation. Carriers approve most supplements when they are properly documented. (Note: rotten decking replacement is generally not a covered supplement — we replace decking as needed but it is typically a homeowner expense.)

We request a re-inspection with our photos and measurements. Most denials happen because the adjuster missed damage — when they come back with our documentation, damage gets approved. If the carrier still denies a legitimate claim, you have the right to request a public adjuster or appraisal.

Actual cash value (ACV) is the depreciated value of your roof — what it is worth today. Replacement cost value (RCV) is what a new roof costs. Most policies pay ACV upfront and the recoverable depreciation after work is completed. You do not pay the depreciation — it is yours once the work is done.

Great price. Marshall has been one site from day one! I called the company after the storm went through. He inspected the property damage; filed the claim; reviewed the inspection report and explained it.

The guy named Christian, he came and checked my roof and he's a very nice guy. He did the claim for me through the insurance and they approved it, he was very well mannered and very polite. He was talking to me all about what he does and what he brings to the table! I definitely recommend this company.
